Manhatta Architecture, P.C. is a full-service architectural design firm that specializes in residential, commercial, recreational, institutional and urban design. Services offered include design, zoning analysis, building code consultation, space programming, construction documents, and construction administration. Since its founding in 2011, the office has completed numerous projects throughout the New York City metro. Manhatta Architecture, P.C. is currently expanding its primary service area to include the London Metropolitan Region in the United Kingdom.
The firm's principal Richard Garey, R.A. is licensed in New York with reciprocity throughout all 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam and Canada. He is also actively pursuing registration with the Royal Institute of British Architects. Originally from Mid-Atlantic Region, Richard studied Architecture at Columbia University's Manhattan and Paris campuses ultimately being awarded a Master of Architecture degree. Prior to founding Manhatta Architecture, P.C., he worked at several architecture firms in Connecticut, Westchester and New York City. Accordingly, Richard was exposed to a wide range of project types ranging from mixed use affordable and market-rate multi-family housing to Nantucket Estates and Manhattan Townhouses. In addition to professional practice, Richard has served as a guest critic at Pratt Institute, NYIT and the University of Massachusetts.
